Bali

Going to Bali feels like going on a never-ending adventure–there is an activity to suit every soul!

Bali is a popular destination for many people around the world and it’s easy to see why. From its unending idyllic beaches, captivating spiritual energy, terraced rice fields, and exotic sunsets, there is so much to see and experience on this magnificent island paradise!

Experience surfing, yoga, meditation, trekking, delicious food or amazing nightlife. Certain areas of Bali have been influenced by tourism, with hubs of insta-worthy cafes, hip bars, and vegan restaurants. But other areas are still quite remote, maintaining their uniquely Balinese beauty and charm.

Among the more than 17,000 islands in Indonesia, Bali still shines the brightest in terms of tourism. There are countless other tropical destinations, but for millions of tourists each year, this fascinating island is the favourite.

Beyond stunning beaches and magical temples, Bali has virtually every kind of natural beauty. Glorious mountainous areas with lush greenery, scenic lakes, gorgeous waterfalls, iconic rice fields, flower gardens, gushing sacred rivers and secret canyons all make up the island’s landscape.

Quick info

Language: The main languages spoken in Bali are Indonesian, Balinese, and English.

Currency: The currency of Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah.

Credit Cards and ATMs: There are plenty of ATMs in Bali’s main cities like Ubud and Canggu. As long as you’re not eating at local ‘warung’ restaurants, you can pay for your meal with your credit card, but cash is preferred.

Plugs: The plugs in Bali are type C and F. The standard voltage is 230V, and the standard frequency is 50Hz. We recommend buying a universal adapter (make sure it has surge protection) and using a converter for hairdryers and hot tools.

Safety: Bali is one of the safest destinations for  solo travelers even for a female! The biggest thing you need to watch out for is road safety, especially if you’re renting a motorbike. Take a taxi if you’re not a confident rider. It will always be cheaper than a hospital bill.
